Leave it to Jennifer Lopez to share news in such an exclusive way. In a video published to J.Lo’s Instagram account in April, the actress is seen walking through Bergdorf’s “at 3 a.m.,” revealing the “secret” that Hustlers “is coming to a theater near you” on September 13.

Hustlers is based off Jessica Pressler’s New York Magazine article “The Hustlers at Scores” about a group of “former strip club employees” who become Robin Hood figures in their attempt to “turn the tables” on their clients. Constance Wu, Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles, Lili Reinhart, Mercedes Ruehl, Trace Lysette and Cardi B will join J.Lo in various roles.

Filming only started in March so a release date just six months away isn’t unheard of, but it’s brisk. Director Lorene Scafaria is familiar with how the independent film world works; it’s known for rapidly putting out features, but with a cast this large it’s perplexing. The film has been in production for almost a year since J.Lo was announced as the lead. Production was shaky when the original studio dropped it, leaving it for STX Entertainment to pick up. Either way, audiences won’t have to wait much longer to see J.Lo, Wu, and Cardi B come together for one final score!

Hustlers arrives in theaters on September 13, 2019.
