Actress and singer Jennifer López (Hustlers) shared a teaser of her upcoming romantic comedy Marry Me with Owen Wilson (Loki) on social media this weekend, and we’re getting some Notting Hill vibes. The official trailer hits online Thursday (November 18).

In the film, López plays Kat Valdez, a famous pop star who ends her engagement with another superstar singer (Maluma) when she finds out he cheated on her. She quickly goes on the rebound and decides to marry Charlie Gilbert (Wilson), a stranger at one of her concerts. Marry Me is adapted from a graphic novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby.

The teaser features López singing “On My Way,” a song from the movie’s official soundtrack. The first scene shows Wilson’s Charlie standing in the audience at one of Kat’s concerts. He’s holding a sign that reads, “Marry Me.” Kat, who is wearing a sparkling veil, sees Charlie in the crowd, points him out, brings him on stage, and apparently accepts the proposal. The two make it official with a kiss in front of thousands of cheering fans.

Then, we watch to see what would happen if a world-famous singer would actually get engaged to an adoring fan she just met. The same sort of thing happens in the 1999 rom-com Notting Hill when a famous movie star played by Julia Roberts starts dating a bookstore owner played by Hugh Grant.

This is López’s first film since her 2019 hit Hustlers. Following Marry Me, she will star in the rom-com action flick Shotgun Wedding alongside Josh Duhamel, Sonia Braga, Callie Hernández, and Cheech Marin. She is currently shooting the action thriller The Mother with Gael Garcia Bernal.

Marry Me hits theaters on February 11, 2022.
