Kid Cudi continues his creative streak by announcing he will be producing and starring in the screen adaptation of the acclaimed book Real Life by author Brandon Taylor. The adaptation will be produced by his production company Mad Solar, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Booker Prize finalist and New York Times Editor’s Choice pick focuses on Wallace–who will be portrayed by Cudi in the adaptation–a gay Black scientist in a predominantly white and straight Midwestern doctoral program who will come face to face with many personal challenges. Taylor himself will write the adaptation, and no release date has been announced yet.

In previous Cudi series news, he had announced his involvement in the production of the Netflix animated series Entergalactic, as well as its soundtrack. Although the initial announcement came in 2019 and Netflix has unveiled a landing page for it, a release date is yet to be announced.

The Real Life news comes as Man On The Moon III–The Chosen, the third installment of Cudi’s celebrated discography, will be dropping on Friday, December 11, representing a culmination of a year full of collaborations and musical activity for the sometimes-elusive artist.
