It goes without saying that we love Mexican food around here. There’s nothing like eating a traditional cheesy, delicious Latin dish to make you feel like you’re right back in the comfort of your Abuelita’s kitchen, but sometimes after 3 tequila shots and 2 Coronas, all you need is MONCHIES (the messier the better.) If you happen to be strolling along Lincoln Road, Huahua’s Taqueria is now open to satisfy your deepest immediate desires for chips, cheese, fried chicken, paletas and more.
Fried Chicken Taco
Huahua’s is the brainchild of the team behind futuristic Haven Gastro-Pub, so you can expect these Mexican dishes to have a bit of a twist. Don’t expect anything too traditional-the menu places elote with chorizo next to queso blanco macaroni ‘n’ cheese and deep fried avocado tacos. If your mouth isn’t watering yet, some of the amazing tacos on the menu include the fried chicken taco (with jalapeno cornbread, ancho ranch, cabbage) and the BBQ short rib taco with pickled jalapeno and sweet heat coleslaw. To soothe your probably burning taste buds, Huahua’s has an extensive list of rotating paleta flavors to cool you down- flavors include passion fruit, coconut, arroz con leche, elote, and TEQUILA!
