Love is Blind: Argentina was released just a few months ago, but already one of the show’s happy endings has turned anything but. Emily Ceco, who participated in the show’s first season has now come out to accuse co-star and husband Santiago Martínez of domestic violence, in an interview that has since gone viral.

Ceco appeared on the show El ejército de la mañana, on Bondi Live streaming channel, and revealed a bruised and swollen left eye and bruises on her arm, which she alleges are the result of a beating at the hands of her husband, Martínez. During her time on the Netflix reality show, Ceco revealed she was previously involved with a violent partner and spoke about her fears of ever ending up in a situation like that again.

The couple had recently announced their decision to marry in a religious ceremony and Ceco’s bachelorette party included a sex-themed theater show, which was reportedly the reason Martínez snapped. According to Ceco, “I asked him to please stop locking the door to the room, that I wanted to leave. He told me that if I left, I should take all of my stuff.” As she started packing, Ceco alleges Martínez started hitting her. “That was when he punched me in the head and back. I told him ‘Please don’t hit me’ and he said ‘You’re a w—’ and he hit me again.”

Afterward, Ceco claims Martínez pinned her down on the bed and choked her while telling her he’d seen videos of her dancing on stage on TikTok and adding “You weren’t crying then, cry now.”

When the show aired Martínez was criticized for her treatment of Ceco on various occasions, particularly one in which he abruptly took away her plate, telling her she was eating too much.

One of the co-hosts of the show also shared Ceco’s legal complaint on X, at her request.

The same show also later revealed Martínez’s reaction to the complaint, with the former Love Is Blind: Argentina contestant referring to the matter as a “family fight” and sending his wife a message that read, “Obviously I’m not asking you to forget, but I can assure you that those days of fighting, shouting, insults, getting angry and changing are going to disappear. And yes, I failed you and I made mistakes like I never thought I would in my life. My childhood traumas and that shitty childhood finally surfaced, and I’m willing to work to fix it.”

Ceco, however, has not given any indication she’s willing to forgive her husband, stating in a recent interview that he “tried to kill” her.
