Netflix’s favorite reality show is now coming to Mexico. Love is Blind, the reality show that brings together a group of people who must date, form a connection, and decide to get married without ever seeing each other, has announced its first edition to take place in Mexico. It’s aptly titled Love is Blind: México. Previous spin-off editions of the show have taken place in Brazil, Japan, and Sweden, with a UK edition expected later this year.
A new version of the show, to be filmed in the United Arab Emirates, titled Love is Blind, Habibi, has also been announced.
The news about the Mexico spinoff was announced via a tweet on the Netflix Latinoamérica X account, which read “Dos personas, dos corazones, una conexión. Parejas que decidirán casarse ¡sin haberse visto nunca! ‘Love is Blind’ el experimento de Netflix que ha dado la vuelta al mundo, llega a México muy pronto.”
Which in English translates to: “These singles have to put a ring on it… without ever seeing one another. The Emmy-nominated experiment that ponders if love is blind arrives in Mexico.”
The show’s executive producers are Johanna Helman and Martin Solmesky.
Love is Blind’s US version has had many memorable Latine contestants. Some worth mentioning are Season 5’s Lydia, the only one to walk down the aisle in her season, who is still happily married to Milton. And one can’t forget Season 4’s Jackie, one of the most controversial contestants of her season after she broke up with Marshall and got back together with Josh, whom she’d broken up with during the pods.
Then there were season 2’s Mallory and Salvador, who walked out of the pods together but ultimately did not get married. Also, memorably, season 1’s Giannina Gibelli, did not marry the man she met in the pods, Damian, but she did stay together with him for years after Season 1.
