The new first family of the MCU is here, and Pedro Pascal is officially at the head of it. Marvel has finally confirmed that Pascal is set to play Reed Richards, a.k.a. Mr. Fantastic. This comes after months of false leads, rumors, and speculation as to whether he would join or not.

Pascal will be joined by Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm aka the Thing.

The Fantastic Four were famously the first superheroes created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby for Marvel Comics. No story details are yet known, but previous adaptations of the story focused on the origin story of the four astronauts turned superheroes who get their powers after being exposed to cosmic rays in space. Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic has the power of elasticity and can stretch his body to stretch, deform, and reform into virtually any shape.

Disney also announced the release date for the movie is set for May 2, 2025.

The internet’s reaction to the news has been mixed. Some are willing to give him a chance but have questions about whether Pascal is keeping his facial hair.

Then there are the people who have realized this means Oscar Isaac, Pedro Pascal, and Gael García Bernal are all part of the MCU.

Some are still not happy.

But some are.

On top of playing Mr. Fantastic in the new Fantastic Four movie, Pascal is also set to reprise his role as Joel Miller in the second season of The Last of Us. He will also star in the new Gladiator sequel.
