Where Oscar Isaac goes, the internet will follow. And it’s not exactly hard to follow him into Marvel. During Disney+ Day, the streamer released the first look at Isaac as Marc Spector on Moon Knight, which is set to release on the platform sometime soon – though no date has been announced yet. And though we didn’t get a close look at Isaac in costume, only a silhouette in the distance, there’s enough in the teaser to get people excited.
The footage, which is available only on the Disney Plus platform, shows Isaac’s Spector having trouble telling the difference between his waking life and his dreams. It also seems to show the character speaking in two different voices, something which would make sense considering Spector’s dissociative identity disorder, and clearly focuses on the character’s confusion at not remembering a fight he apparently participated in. Then there’s the brief glimpse of a mirror where Spector’s reflection is moving independently from him.
Fans of Isaac have been especially excited for Moon Knight, which promises to deliver Marvel’s darkest hero yet. The actor, who’s renowned not just for how much the internet appreciates his facial hair or his friendship with Pedro Pascal, but for his acting, has already played a few iconic characters. But it’s hard to argue any of them have had the depth, or the history, Moon Knight has.
Plus, fans also get to see him in a flattering costume. There’s also that. That’s the kind of gift the internet will always, always appreciate. Not that the internet doesn’t just appreciate Oscar Isaac in general. If there’s one thing we can count on the internet for, it’s a general thirst for Isaac, and now, presumably, for Moon Knight.
