Tatiana Palacios is shooting her shot on social media. The Mexican actress and pop singer voiced the character Megara in the Spanish-language version of the 1997 animated film Hercules and is hoping her history with Disney might land her a role in the upcoming live-action remake of the movie.

Recently on Twitter, the well-known pop singer and figure on children’s TV in Mexico since the 1980s who just goes by Tatiana, tagged Disney on a post reminding them who she was and what she was looking for in the future. “Hello [Disney],” she wrote. “I did the voice of #Megara in #Spanish back in 1997. I want to do something in the #Herculesliveaction. Tell me how? Pleaaaaaaaaase.”

In Hercules, Megara plays the love interest of the title character. In Greek mythology, she is the wife of Hercules, but Disney decided to change her into more of a femme fatale-type character at the beginning of the animated film and teams her up with its antagonist, Hades, the god of the Underworld.

Late last year, co-producer Joe Russo told Variety that a live-action version of Hercules, which would be directed by Guy Ritchie (Aladdin), would be “a little bit more experimental in tone, a little bit more experimental in execution.”

Russo added: “I think [Disney is] excited to see what we can all bring to it in a way that isn’t just a reinterpretation of the animated film.”

After Tatiana made it known that she was interested in a role, plenty of her fans commented that they would like to see her in the new movie. “Please, [Disney],” one Twitter user wrote. “[Tatiana Palacios] is Megara in the Latin American version, please!”

Another user reminded Disney how beloved Tatiana is in Mexico. “[Tatiana] is a legend, an icon and queen of the children in Mexico!!!” they wrote.

Maybe Disney can invite Ricky Martin to play a role, too, since he voiced Hercules in the Spanish dub. The live-action version of Hercules does not have a release date yet.
