For its 2020 edition, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) Media Summit is shifting to a virtual event. That means the Los Angeles-based gathering of industry leaders and content creators will be more accessible than ever. The announced speakers and guests run the gamut from showrunners like Steven Canals (Pose) and Tanya Saracho (Vida) to the creative team behind Netflix’s upcoming Selena: The Series and the trio behind the Walter Mercado documentary Mucho Mucho Amor.

As usual, the summit, which Remezcla is a distribution partner for, is designed to empower Latinx creators who want firsthand experience from writers, filmmakers and producers who have successfully navigated the entertainment industry. NALIP promises “a historical first virtual Conference boasting over 1,000 attendees and 125 speakers from across the media and entertainment industry.”

“NALIP is making a concerted effort to create opportunities for Latinx and underrepresented communities to learn and grow creatively despite the current circumstances,” NALIP executive director Benjamin Lopez said to Variety when first announcing the shift out of its in-person lineup. “In pivoting to a virtual platform for our annual event, the organization seeks to widen its reach and position the Latinx community as a global force for change within the industry.”

So whether you’re itching to hear about how to break into animation from Jorge Gutierrez or learn about Mexican filmmaker Issa López’s upcoming Blumhouse horror film, you won’t want to miss on the many panels and conversations that will be taking place over the five-day affair.

NALIP Media Summit runs June 25-30, 2020. Learn more about it and register over at NALIP’s website.
