Netflix boasts an impressive amount of Latin American originals, both full-length films and television shows. One more they’re adding to their production slate is the upcoming Brazilian 1950s period drama Coisa Mais Linda.

Set to go into production next year, Coisa Mais Linda follows Maria Luiza, who travels from her São Paulo home to Rio de Janeiro in search of her missing husband. Once there, Maria Luiza is taken with the city and goes forward on creating a Bossa Nova Club.

An original series produced by Prodigo Films, Coisa Mais Linda will feature eight one-hour episodes in its first season. The series was created by Heather Roth and Giuliano Cedroni, and written by Pati Corso and Leo Moreira. The producers are Beto Gauss, Francesco Civita and Caito Ortiz. There is currently no word on any actors attached to the project. Filming starts sometime in 2018.

The series continues Netflix’s collaboration with Brazilian studios. Next year they’ll premiere the second season of 3%, as well as two new original series. One of them is O Mecanismo, created by José Padilha and Elena Soarez. They’ll also debut Samantha! starring Emmanuelle Arújo.
