Tapping into all their available avenues for promotion, Disney released the latest Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer on Monday night during the Philadelphia Eagles-New York Giants game. The much hyped trailer opens with Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey, walking on Jakku, a planet reminiscent of Tatooine. The newest trailer has a similar feel to the rest of the universe, but it’s still different enough to mark the shift that has taken place behind the scenes. Unlike the previous six films, this is the first that’s being helmed by big-budget Hollywood director and go-to sci-fi expert J.J. Abrams.

The first time we see Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, he’s in a tough spot as Kylo Ren, an apparent Darth Vader Stan, is torturing him. This video is also the first time we officially hear Rey, Finn (John Boyega), and Kylo Ren speak, giving a small peek into each of their characters’ head spaces. Though the trailer does little to reveal new information on Poe Dameron, he also gets to share a moment with Finn at a rebel base. Lupita Nyong’o is still M.I.A., however.

Before Abrams jumped into the Star Wars universe, there were only a handful of non-white characters in the first six films. Abrams has broken that pattern with the help of main characters Boyega (a black Stormtrooper) and Isaac. Boyega has responded to the criticism in the past, telling people they need to “get used to it,” but that didn’t stop people from starting the #BoycottStarWarsVII hashtag on Twitter. Though it was initially used to complain about Boyega’s leading man status, the Twitterverse fought back with reasoning and hilarious randomness.
