Someone should probably keep Oscar Isaac away from the latest issue of Flaunt. The magazine features an interview with his “sweet girlfriend” Pedro Pascal, who admits that it was “very easy” to become attracted to co-star Ethan Hawke while shooting their upcoming short film, Strange Way of Life

As if the photo shoot itself wasn’t enough.

The Western, which is directed by Oscar-winner Pedro Almodóvar (Talk to Her), sees an “intimate” reunion between a sheriff (Hawke) and a gunslinger (Pascal). Almodóvar calls the film his “answer to Brokeback Mountain,” referring to the Oscar-winning 2005 drama starring Jake Gyllenhaal and the late Heath Ledger as two closeted cowboys in 1960s Wyoming.

Pascal called it a “dumb question” when Flaunt asked whether it was easy or difficult to act attracted to Hawke while filming the short. “Think about staring into those steel f—ing blue eyes,” Pascal said. “Brown eyes are great! Chocolate chips! But, you know, that steel blue stare of his. Oh god, I don’t mean to make Zoolander references while talking about this film.”

Pascal also went on to say about the short in general, “Whether it’s breaking down tropes that you find in westerns or masculinity, sexuality between men, love. If you’re anchoring yourself to a truthful telling of the story you’re inherently expressing all of those things honoring them, deconstructing them, questioning them.”

After all, love is love.

Twitter users were quick to comment on what a short film like Strange Way of Life would likely do to their own lives once it’s released. “This movie is going to change the course of my existence,” one person posted.

While some people said their lives would change completely, others are worried they won’t survive the pairing of Pascal and Hawke. “Listen, I’m gonna combust when this movie comes out,” one Twitter user wrote.

Others took the time to remind Pascal where his true love lies. “Oscar Isaac has chocolate chip eyes,” a tweet reads.

Still, a love story between Pascal and Hawke had plenty of people intrigued by the cinematic partnership. “I wanna insert Strange Way of Life directly into my bloodstream as soon as possible.”
