Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix. Currently, the animated sequel is the sixth highest-grossing film of 2023 with $690 million at the worldwide box office.

The critically acclaimed movie follows high school teen Miles Morales/Spider-Man (Shameik Moore) as he discovers there are portals in the universe that lead to different versions of the web-slinging superhero. When Miles and superhero Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) journey across the Multiverse, they meet a team of Spider-People tasked with protecting its existence.

Along with Moore, the voice cast includes Oscar Isaac (Moon Knight), who plays the character Miguel O’Hara, an alternative version of Spider-Man from the future known as Spider-Man 2099. Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore) lends his voice to the supervillain known as The Spot, who is covered in interdimensional portals.

According to Deadline, Across the Spider-Verse will premiere on Netflix “as part of the studio’s five-year pay-one licensing deal with the streamer” on October 31st. But if you can’t wait, the movie is also available to buy from Prime, Google Play, Apple TV+, and even Vudu.

A third Spider-Verse movie, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was moved from its original release date of March 29, 2024, because of the Hollywood strikes. There is currently no new release date for the movie.

This past summer, it was announced that a live-action Spider-Verse movie feature Miles Morales was in the works. There is also a fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland and Zendaya in development.

This piece was written during the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the labor of the actors currently on strike, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse being covered here wouldn’t exist.
