A few popular social media influencers are expanding to TV with their own reality show on Netflix, this according to Variety.
The unscripted series will star the members of the Hype House, a Los Angeles-based mansion where a group of TikTok stars live together and create content for their pages. One of the stars of the currently untitled reality series will be 17-year-old Sienna Mae Gómez.
Currently, Gómez boasts 22.5 million combined followers on her two separate TikTok pages (@siennamae and @siennamaegomezz), 2.5 million followers on Instagram and 373,000 subscribers on YouTube.
On her TikTok pages, Gómez, who is Mexican on her father’s side, entertains her fans with videos of her lip syncing, dancing, modeling, working out, eating and goofing off, among other activities. She is also known for speaking about body positivity. She’s titled a few of her videos, “Girl Likes to Eat” because, as she says, “I’m a girl who likes to eat.”
“I didn’t know I could have that big of an impact,” Gomez told a teen blog. “What I’m trying to do is be a middle body representative. I feel like there are a lot of really skinny girls that are very body-positive, and there are a lot of curvier girls that are very body positive, but I personally have never seen somebody that is a middle body representative.”
Gómez’s rise to social media fame over the last few months has been fast. It started last September around the time she released a video doing what is now known as “The Squirrel Dance.”
Along with Gómez, other cast members of the Netflix reality show, which will be in the same vein as The Real World, include Kouvr Annon, Nikita Dragun and Jack Wright.
