It’s been two months since there’s been any news about FX’s highest-rated cable series, Mayans M.C. It was previously announced that the second season would debut September 3, but that was it. Now, a trailer has arrived detailing some of the story threads we’ll be delving into this year.

Similar to the trailer for season one, we see an open road, only to zoom in and see a host of motorcycles cruising by. “Nothing blows back on the Mayans,” a character says, interspersed with rapid-fire scenes of violence, gunplay, and a reintroduction to old characters we can expect to see again. Family secrets are at the center of this season, with Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo) still estranged from his brother Angel Reyes (Clayton Cardenas). It’s a beef that EZ is told must end, leading into a moment where he tells someone (presumably Angel) that he needs to be part of something.

We get a glimpse of a photo alluding Felipe Reyes’ (Edward James Olmo) life before his sons’ arrival. “My boys know nothing about my past,” Reyes shares. In a scene soon after, EZ is shown telling Angel he knows who killed their mother. It’s safe to say we’ll get more information on their family’s past. Other plotlines that pop up in the trailer include Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino) having to “get” the “rebel queen” Luisa Espina (Carla Baratta) “bloody.”

The final seconds of the trailer emphasize two things: guns and bikes. Nearly every character is seen either pointing a weapon or interacting with a motorcycle in some way. It’s not a criticism, just a standard issue of Mayans.

The series, regardless of its flaws, has certainly connected with audiences, particularly in the era of Trump. Considering how high the ratings were for season one, FX will be looking closely to see if lightning strikes twice. Fans need to turn out in support, particularly with how competitive television is now.

Mayans M.C. premieres September 3 at 10 p.m. on FX.
