From The Powerpuff Girls to Adventure Time, Cartoon Network has long been a home for some of the most exciting animated series around. This March, a pair of half-brothers will join that storied lineage. Victor and Valentino, created by Diego Molano, follows the titular characters as they explore Monte Macabre, a small and mysterious town, where the myths and legends of Mesoamerican folklore come to life. Giving us Gravity Falls vibes — the two are spending their summer with their Grandma Chata — the show features everything from alebrijes to chupacabras.

Rambunctious Vic (voiced by Molano himself) and cautious Val (who sports an adorable blue poncho we wish we owned) will get into all sorts of adventures. As the trailer for the show informs us, Monte Macabre (which has a churro stand and a taco cart) has portals to other dimensions and where ancient spirits come to life. First developed as a short pilot back in 2016, the colorful show hopes to give Latinx kids an entertaining look at the folktales and myths that populate the American continent.

As Molano told Variety last year, “These stories are so cool and particular and they’re not talked about at all compared to, say, Greek and Roman myths. That’s mostly why I wanted to do it because I feel like it’s hidden treasure.” Leading into the series premiere, 10 episodes of the show will be available on the CN App and On Demand, with every episode also available in Spanish, further exploding Victor and Valentino‘s commitment to its bicultural feel.

Victor and Valentino premieres Saturday March 30, 2019.
