New Super Bowl LIX ad drops and more Latine talent are coming in fast on the commercial frontlines. Today (February 7), Ritz Crackers released its Super Bowl LIX ad with Puerto Rican talent Aubrey Plaza and Bad Bunny, alongside American actor Michael Shannon.

In the ad, deadpan queen Aubrey Plaza and Michael Shannon enter the Ritz Salty Club, a place where their “salty brethren” hang out in Salt Flats, Utah. No room for smiles or joy, the two actors play up the shade, eating the crackers in a “salty” mood. The camera then pans to Bad Bunny, who breaks the status quo with a smile, exclaiming “I love them!”

Shannon tells Bad Bunny to read the sign, “No Smiles allowed” in which Bad Bunny audibly dismisses and walks towards Plaza, lowering his shades and replying “So?” Plaza replies with, “That’s better.”

The DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS artist is no stranger to Super Bowl weekend. In 2020, el Conejo Malo performed at the 2020 Super Bowl alongside Shakira before JLo took the stage.

He later caused comical controversy in an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show, where he confessed to Fallon that he didn’t even know who won the Superbowl after his halftime performance.

Aubrey Plaza has also been a Super Bowl talent classic. Last year, she appeared in a Mountain Dew commercial alongside Nick Offerman, where she introduces herself saying, “It’s me, America’s sweetheart.”
