Betty la Fea, La Historia Continúa is coming in hot! After breaking the record for the largest global viewership for a Latin American title in the streamer’s history, Prime Video released the second season’s trailer and release date today (July 22).
“Many changes are coming but our Betty, will always be Betty 🤓,” Prime Video Latin America announced in Spanish. “The new season of Betty la Fea: The Story Continues arrives August 15 on #PrimeVideoLAT 💙.”
Starring the rom-com series’ cherished Colombian actors Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello, the new season will feature 10 new episodes. Prime Video will release two episodes a week, starting on August 15. The story will follow Betty’s present life as she keeps trying to rebuild her relationship with her daughter, Mila. It will also see her navigate emotional distance with Armando, with new dilemmas such as an unprecedented pregnancy of someone in her close circle.
“Revisiting Betty la Fea: La Historia Continúa is not only a tribute to a beloved story, it’s a reflection of our commitment to meaningful storytelling,” the Head of Originals LatAm, CA and AU, Amazon Studios, Javiera Balmaceda, said in a press statement. “We’re proud to give fans a new perspective on a character who helped shape television in Latin America and continues to inspire across generations.”
The new trailer teases Betty and Armando facing new relationship dramas – both in their personal life and in their workplace, with the series’ signature humor. Moreover, the trailer’s caption indicates that season two will explore “personal reinvention, family dynamics, and second chances, while staying true to the charm and heart of the original story that made Betty a global icon.”
