Actress Eva Mendes has not starred in the lead role of a film since the 2012 drama Girl in Progress, but the Cuban-American star might be ready to make a comeback to the entertainment industry. She does, however, have some stipulations before she decides if a project is right for her.

During a recent appearance on The View, Mendes said that if an opportunity presented itself to act, it would have to be for something she felt comfortable doing now that she’s a mother.

“I have such a short list of what I will do,” Mendes said. “Before kids, I kind of was up for anything. I mean, if it was a fun project. But now I won’t do violence. I don’t want to do sexuality. The list is short.”

Mendes and her husband, actor Ryan Gosling (La La Land), have two daughters – Esmeralda Amada Gosling, 7, and Amada Lee Gosling, 6.

When The View co-host Sunny Hostin asked Mendes if she would return to acting if a “special project” caught her attention, Mendes said, “I hope so. I would like to. It has to be nice and clean.”

The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg then suggested that maybe she should do something with Disney. Mendes said, “Disney. Perfect.” Goldberg went on to say she would like to see Mendes back on the show with them as a co-host. “That would be fun,” she said with a big smile.

Mendes also talked about the break she took from social media last year because she felt “phony” doing it. “I wanted to [be] more genuine, but not seek it out,” she said. “My last post was me on a Ferris wheel, and I was like, ‘What am I doing?!’”

Eva Mendes returned to Instagram less than a week ago. Her first post was about her new company, Skura Style, which is a line of antimicrobial “smart sponges.”
