Kim Kardashian channeled Salma Hayek for Halloween this year. In a video posted to social media on Wednesday (November 1), the reality TV star and entrepreneur dressed like Hayek’s character Santanico Pandemonium from the 1996 Robert Rodriguez action-horror movie From Dusk till Dawn.

The video shows Hayek’s scene from the movie edited together with footage of Kardashian dressed in a crimson velvet bikini, feathered headdress, and carrying a large Albino Burmese Python around her shoulders.

Kardashian also tries to dance like Hayek in the movie to the song “After Dark” by the band Tito & the Tarantula. In the film, Santanico Pandemonium performs an alluring dance for the bar’s patrons before transforming into a blood-sucking vampire.

Even Hayek was impressed when she saw the video. She responded to Kardashian by writing a message to her in her Instagram Stories: “Bravo @kimkardashian. I’m so honored. You’ve brought back some wild memories … and a little PTSD. Kim wore it best.”

Hayek’s reference to PTSD stems from the fact that she filmed her scene despite her fear of snakes. In a 2021 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, Hayek said she had to get into a “trance” to do the improvised dance. She also said screenwriter Quentin Tarantino told her that if she didn’t want to do it, he had Madonna, who was willing to carry the snake, on standby.

“It was good because I had to overcome my greatest fear,” Hayek said.

This isn’t the first time Kim Kardashian dressed like a famous Latina for Halloween. In 2017, she wore a purple jumpsuit to honor the late Tejano star Selena Quintanilla.
