We’re only about a week away before actor and comedian George Lopez shows everyone why “the Lopez way” is the best way to do things on his new series Lopez vs. Lopez.

His latest eponymous sitcom also stars his real-life daughter Mayan Lopez. NBC describes it as “a working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection, and all the pain and joy in between.”

In the first full preview for the show, George, who temporarily moved in with his daughter and driving her nuts, explains that “the Lopez way” has been passed on for generations. His grandmother taught it to him by chunking her chancla (sandal) at his head.

“She would throw it at you and hit you, so you never forgot,” George said. “And you know what, I never forgot.”

The trailer also features young TikTok star Brice Gonzalez of the famed EnkyBoys. On the show, Gonzalez plays Chance, Mayan’s son and George’s grandson. In a scene, Chance asks his grandpa to make him some healthy “green juice.” George suggests he picks his nose and eats what he finds inside “like a real kid.” Apparently, it’s “nature’s candy.”

Mayan also criticizes her dad for leaving her to play in a fountain in front of a casino when she was a child and telling her it was a kiddie pool. “That’s how you learned how to swim and count change!” George responds.

She also picks on her dad for saying that he can read in the dark and that she should teach Chance to do the same so that they can save money on electricity. “Read in the dark; he doesn’t even read in the light!” she says.

We’ll see if Lopez can instill his “fool-proof method” in life by getting audiences to follow “the Lopez way” when Lopez vs. Lopez premieres on NBC on November 4, 2022, at 8 p.m. EST. Episodes will be available to stream the following day on Peacock.
