The new Daddy Yankee-produced comedy, Neon, has released its official trailer and key art to the tune of very familiar music. The show, which follows three friends as they look to make it big in the world of reggaeton, is set to be released October 19 on Netflix. The streamer had previously released a short teaser and images.

In the new official trailer, we see Santi (Tyler Dean Flores) and his friends Ness (Emma Ferreira) and Felix (Jordan Mendoza) move to Miami to try to help Santi’s career as a reggaeton singer. Once there, the trio – and A&R rep Mia (Courtney Taylor) go through highs and lows as they network, meet new people and try to get Santi noticed.

We also get some heartwarming moments between the trio, with Santi telling his friends at one point that “reggaeton is not my destiny, you guys are.”

The show’s cast is rounded up by Santiago Cabrera as Oscar, Jordana Brewster as Gina, Genesis Rodriguez as Isa, Zack Fox as Zale, Jhayco as Javier Luna, and Villana as herself.  And Kali Uchis, El Alfa and JT’s “Muñekita” and Myke Towers’s “LALA” can be heard in the background of the trailer.

Neon was co-created by Shea Serrano and Max Searle, who is also a showrunner. Both serve as executive producers, alongside SB Projects, Anne Clements, and Daddy Yankee. One Six of Neon16 and Ntertain, Joe Rodriguez and Javier Nuno of Indice are the music supervisors, with Tainy, Lex Borrero, Ivan Rodriguez, from Ntertain and Neon16, and collectively known as Tainy & One Six, serving as Music Executive Producers.

Alongside the official trailer, fans can check out the Neon official playlist, which is out now on Spotify and Apple Music. The playlist features music from and inspired by the series including the original song “Exagerao” produced by Tainy.

Neon premieres on October 19, 2023 on Netflix.
