A handful of Netflix’s TV series, including Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) and The Queen’s Gambit, will be adapted into video games. The announcement was made on Friday (June 10) during the virtual 2022 Geeked Week event.

In La Casa De Papel, which is being developed by the Colombian company Killasoft, gamers follow a storyline where the heist crew is on a mission to rob a casino in Monaco that belongs to a sus billionaire. From the trailer, the game looks like it’s going to have a lot of firepower.

“It’s time to put on the Dali mask,” the Netflix Geeked account tweeted. “A La Casa De Papel game is on its way to Netflix!”

According to Deadline, The Queen’s Gambit chess game will be developed by Ripstone Ltd in the United Kingdom. The trailer for the game features chess pieces and chess boards set up for a tournament. An animated version of fictional chess prodigy Beth Harmon (Anya Taylor-Joy) then appears on the screen with the words “Let’s get started” inside a text bubble. Do you have what it takes to beat Beth in a chess match?

“In 2020, The Queen’s Gambit kicked off a chess revolution, and now it has a game of its own coming to Netflix,” the Netflix Geeked account tweeted. “Take some lessons from Mr. Shaibel, play matches against Borgov, or compete against friends in this love letter to the show.”

Other series-turned-games that will be released by Netflix soon are Shadow & Bone and Too Hot to Handle. Last year, Netflix introduced its very first video game based on its Stranger Things series.
