Movie anthology horror hounds are probably counting down the days for the premiere of Satanic Hispanics. The horror anthology is composed of five shorts directed by five different filmmakers – Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider!), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Bingo Hell) and Alejandro Brugues (Juan of the Dead). Demian Rugna and Eduardo Sánchez will be making their directorial debuts.

All five stories are tied together by The Traveler (Efren Ramirez), a lone survivor who is found when police officers raid a blood-soaked house in El Paso, Texas. When The Traveler is taken to the police station for questioning, he talks to them about the horrible things he’s witnessed during his time on earth and what kind of demons are out there that no one knows about.

He warns police that if he is not released within 90 minutes, “we are all going to be dead.” Sounds like the perfect runtime for a horror anthology if you ask us. “There are powers far darker than man,” The Traveler says at the start of the Satanic Hispanics teaser trailer. “Forces deadlier than I or you can even possibly comprehend.”

The trailer continues with several gory images that include what looks like a decomposed body, a vampire holding a human heart, a witch in the forest wearing a crown of thorns and a severed head of a clown, just to name a few. They’re all edited together with some Quentin Tarantino-esque surfer music.

Some of the more notable names in the cast list include Jacob Vargas (Selena), Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy), Greg Grunberg (Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker) and Hemky Madera (Queen of the South).

Satanic Hispanics will premiere at Fantastic Fest on Sunday (September 25).
