Shakira fans should be happy to see their favorite Colombian pop star in good spirits. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer showed off some of her dance moves during Tuesday night’s (June 14) episode of her reality show competition Dancing with Myself – and she brought fellow judge and musician Nick Jonas along for the ride.
In the clip Jonas released on social media, Shakira asks Jonas, “Do you salsa, Nick?” Jonas replies, “Sometimes. Why do you ask?” Shakira responds, “Cuz I wanna see your moves.”
The scene cuts to Shakira and Jonas dancing to Shakira’s 2016 bop “Chantaje,” featuring Maluma. Dressed in an outfit covered in red, orange, and yellow flames, including a pair of fire-patterned boots, Shakira takes Jonas by the hand and the two entertainers start dancing in front of their studio audience. Co-judge Liza Koshy and host Camille Kostek can be seen dancing from their seats in the background.
At one point, Shakira yells out, “Ahora si!” as Jonas keeps up with her moves. Once the dance is over, Shakira asks him, “Are you sure you’re from Jersey? You’re not from Colombia?”
Social media users were impressed with Jonas’ dance moves in a pair of Converse, although many also gave it up to Shakira for taking the lead.
Shakira has been all smiles during Dancing with Myself, which is a great sign for her fans who were worried about her since her recent breakup with longtime boyfriend Gerard Piqué. The couple, who share two children, released a joint statement earlier this month confirming their split.
“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” the statement read. “We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”
Now, we guess, the only question left to ask is, “Can Chris Evans salsa?”
