It’s a big weekend for movie nerds! The Oscars are this Sunday and even if you’re tuning in just for the fashion or whether you’ve got money riding on an Oscar pool it looks to be an exciting year. It could very well be a Mexican sweep if Gravity takes home the bronze statuettes for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography.
Also, not to be missed is the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday. It’s like the funnier, more irreverent, and way cooler younger sister to the Oscars. To their credit, they’ve got a much more diverse list of nominees than the Academy Awards including some Latinos. So, for all you film buffs and cine-nerds (and everyone in between), here’s your guide of where to watch and who to root for.
