It’s always tough to know what to do when you lose an award at a Hollywood ceremony. With a camera showing your every facial expression before the big revelation, most people would say a smile (fake or not) and a light clap would be appropriate if your name isn’t called. That, however, wasn’t what Sofía Vergara did when she lost out to fellow actress Jodie Foster for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television on Sunday night (January 5) at the Golden Globes.
When Foster’s name was announced for her performance in True Detective: Night Country, Vergara, who was nominated for her title role in Griselda, stood up and yelled out at Foster as she walked up to the stage to accept her award.
“No, no! Not again! Give me one!” Vergara jokingly said. Her facetious response drew laughter from the audience.
“I know! I know!” Foster responded at the mic. At the start of her speech, Foster also said, “The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time is having a community of all these people – especially you Sofia!”

Before her win Sunday night, Foster had won a Golden Globe for the dramatic film The Mauritanian in 2021 and was awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the ceremony in 2013.
On social media, users found Vergara’s fake outrage one of the funniest moments of the evening.
Others posted more videos of Vergara’s hilarious, physical response to Foster’s win.

This was the fifth Golden Globe nomination for Sofía Vergara and the first for a dramatic role. The four previous were for her supporting role in the comedy series Modern Family.
