When is ‘Like Water for Chocolate’ Season 2 Premiering?

We’ve been waiting for this news. The second and final season of the HBO Original show Like Water for Chocolate has a debut date! And though we will indeed have to wait until 2026, it won’t be a long wait.
The show will return for a six-episode season, which will debut on February 15 at 8 p.m. ET and then stream weekly until its finale on March 22nd. In additon to a premiere date, we got a set of first look images for Season 2.
The network has also released a logline for the second season, which reads “In the final season of LIKE WATER FOR CHOCOLATE, Tita finds in Dr. Brown the promise of a different destiny — one where sweetness offers refuge. But Pedro’s return reignites a forbidden passion that defies rules and traditions. Against the backdrop of a Mexico marked by violence and social transformation, traumas, losses, and secrets push every character to confront their limits and decide how much they’re willing to risk for love and freedom. Amid the magic of the kitchen and the strength of their emotions, Tita and Pedro discover that some loves are meant to burn forever.”
Like Water for Chocolate (Como agua para Chocolate) is based on the book by Mexican writer Laura Esquivel and is widely considered one of the best showcases of magical realism in literature. Laura Esquivel’s book was previously adapted into a 1992 movie. Like that movie, and the book, the show mixes magical realism with traditional Mexican cuisine into a story about love, family, and finding your own place in the world.
The season two cast is set to include Irene Azuela, Azul Guaita, Ana Valeria Becerril, Andrea Chaparro, Andrés Baida, Francisco Angellini, Ángeles Cruz, Mauricio García Lozano, Ari Brickman, and Louis David Horné. Like Water for Chocolate is executive produced by Salma Hayek Pinault, among others.
