Be careful if you’re drinking malta – chances are your bottle could explode crack and hurt you. No, we’re serious. The FDA issued the following recall:
The Florida Brewery, Inc. is recalling certain lots of Goya, Great Value, Hatuey, Mr. Special, Polar, Publix, Regal, and SuperMax brand non-alcoholic malta beverages packaged in 7-oz bottles because glass on the exterior of the bottles may break when the twist-off cap is removed from the bottle and can result in cuts to the mouth. To date, the Company has received two reports of consumers experiencing cuts to the mouth.
Affected brands are: Goya, Great Value, Hatuey, Mr. Special, Polar, Publix, Regal, and SuperMax. If you really want, you can go to that link and check the lot numbers and then turn your bottles upside down to check but if I were you I would just leave malta alone for a while until everything got better.
Is it really worth bleeding all over the place for?
The answer, unfortunately, is probably yes. I know, I know, it’s hard, but we’ll get through this. At least Malta India seems okay – I haven’t even heard of most of some of these other brands…
