Cinco de Mayo: NYC Guide

Hey, guys, did you know Mexico won its independence on September 16th? And NOT May 5th? Crazy, right? Well, now that that’s settled, we can go on with our Cinco de Mayos knowing exactly what it is: an excuse for Americans to wear sombreros and drink themselves stupid. There is actual significance to the date: Mexico’s victory against the French in the Battle of Puebla, but most people don’t know or care. However, Cinco de Mayo, aside from being a booze wet dream, brings forth some great events all over New York City.

This week, New York is overflowing with great concerts from the likes of Calle 13, Davila 666, Bomba Estereo, and more. But if music isn’t your thing (what’s wrong with you?), then plenty of other Cinco de Mayo shindigs have stuff in store for you.

New Yorkers, start planning your Cinco with Remezcla’s Cinco de Mayo: NYC Guide. And please, wear sombreros responsibly.
