Christmas Cóctel: Apple Cider + Anejo

You might have figured out by now that any celebration around these parts usually requires tequila (or any alcohol) in some way or another (see Mexican Independence and Dia De Los Muertos cocktails). Sure you’ve had apple ciders and coquito recipes, like our version, but we wanted something a little spicier and discovered one that mixes all of our favorite flavors: jugo de naranja, apple cider and TEQUILA!

Spiced Apple Cider
14 Servings (this requires a party, too)

Ingredients:
8 cups apple cider
3 cups fresh squeezed orange juice (reserve the peel of one orange when juicing the oranges)
4 cups tequila
3 cinnamon sticks
1 apple sliced into thin wedges (peel on)

Preparation:

Pour the apple cider and the orange juice into a large pot and mix them together. Add the reserved orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and apple wedges. Place the pot over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for a minimum of 30 minutes. Stir in tequila and serve hot.
