2016’s Newest Diet Trend is “The Taco Cleanse”, What a Time to Be Alive

We are obviously living in the age of the taco (jk, it’s always the age of the taco.) Toward the end of 2015 we got the taco emoji and the taco bible, Tacopedia, was translated into English. Now, we are kicking 2016 off with a taco cleanse. In their new book, The Taco Cleanse, Wes Allison, Stephanie Bogdanich, Molly R. Frisinger, and Jessica Morris extol the benefits of eating tacos three times a day for 30 days.

But before you get your hopes up, you should know that this is a completely vegan diet and that the cleanse doesn’t promise to help you lose weight, according to The Daily Meal. Then again, all cleanses require sacrifices (sometimes, that sacrifice is eating food), and here, you at least end up eating tacos.

“A taco consumed within three hours of waking, colloquially called a ‘breakfast taco,’ has been anecdotally proven to erase the ill effects of the previous night’s toxic indulgence. A midday taco frequently results in more positive physical effects,” the book reads, according to People. “The spicy taco consumed prior to sleep stimulates the nocturnal imagination and has been used by taco spiritualists to induce prophetic dreams.”
