Frida Kahlo: Art Garden Life
The Frida Kahlo exhibit at the New York Botanical Garden opened this weekend and it’s the perfect summer exhibit. The show focuses on Frida’s love and admiration for the plant world and includes 12 original pieces of art by the legendary Mexican painter as well as and her gardens and studio reimagined. If you attend before June 14th, you’ll also be able to view female artisans from Oaxaca and Chiapas embroider and work the textiles Frida Kahlo loved and wore often. Saturdays and Sundays you can also view the movie Frida with Salma Hayek at 3pm. At the weekend price of $25 for an adult ticket, the show is a little pricey. However, you can save a few bucks by going on the weekdays or using your student ID. You have until November 1st to check it out!
