Concha burgers are not new, but all of a sudden they are back in the spotlight. A couple of years ago brothers Bobby and Adrian Cruz, who worked at the now-defunct Orchard Lounge restaurant – created the burger out of boredom. The sweet and savory concoction – featuring the concha as a bun, a patty made of beef, chorizo, and mushrooms, and a variety of other toppings – went on to win the James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project in 2016. And recently, El Paso’s AAA Minor League baseball team, the Chihuahuas, started offering the sandwich in its stadium, and people on Twitter have not stopped talking about it.

As it turns out, the concha burger is highly divisive. People fall in one of two camps: They love it / are excited to try it or they knock it. Either way, people had lots to say. Check out a few reactions below.
