There’s no shortage of memes in our lives. But in Mexico, memes are now a thing of Mesozoic times.

Dinomemes are the latest trend to take Mexico’s online community by storm. It consists of taking images of dinosaurs and pairing them with hilarious phrases fit for the pettiest and most nonsensical of online conversations. Sometimes, the dinosaurs are modeled after actual humans, which is how we ended up with a Bad Bunny dinomeme. The dino version of the Puerto Rican trapero features a concha on his head and sunglasses; below him are lyrics from “Te Boté.”

The viral trend’s taking over social media with more than three Facebook pages dedicated to dinomemes. The page Lagartijas Babosas constantly shares the newest dinomemes, which means users can easily add the memes – described as “rude slug lizards – to their collections.

Check out a few hilarious dinomemes below. And yes, you’ll be probably quickly become annoyed with them, but such is the life of memes.
