Undoubtedly, the Latinx community has a strong relationship to Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The products – which were created by Richard Montañez, a former  janitor at the Frito-Lay Rancho Cucamonga plant – have become a staple for many Latinx-owned businesses. So when Forever 21 released its own Cheetos-inspired merch this week, it’s no surprise our community had a lot to say.

Forever 21 noticed all the Hot Cheetos love in past years, which helped spark the collab. “We are so excited to join forces with an iconic snack like Flamin’ Hot Cheetos,” said Linda Chang, Forever 21 Vice President of Merchandising. “Flamin’ Hot Cheetos fans are so fanatical, and over the past couple of years, we have seen their love for this food illustrated all over pop culture, and in particular, via social media. We are so honored to be releasing this limited edition capsule!”

The line includes chancletas, a dress that will make you look like a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos bag, and more items. But did they pull it off? Turns out, people are pretty split on it. Some are excited to rock the Cheetos-hued items, while others are questioning why this is a thing.
