While we’ve already seen Frida Kahlo‘s face plastered on an infinite amount of products – including pads and tampons – we’ll now see her transformed into a Barbie. Just ahead of International Women’s Day, Mattel announced it’s releasing a new set of dolls for its Inspiring Women line.

Along with Frida – who sports a slight unibrow and Tehuana-inspired dress – Amelia Earhart and Katherine Johnson will also receive their own dolls. So far, there is no release date for the dolls. “As a brand that inspires the limitless potential in girls, Barbie will be honoring its largest line up of role models timed to International Women’s Day, because we know that you can’t be what you can’t see,” Lisa McKnight, the senior vice president and general manager of Barbie, said in a press release. “Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real life role models to remind them that they can be anything.”
On top of the 3 historic figures, Mattel will also honor contemporary women, such as Chloe Kim, Bindi Irwin, and Patty Jenkins, through its new “Shero” collection.

But in the meantime, people have a lot of thoughts about the Frida Kahlo doll, ranging from excitement to criticism that Mattel overlooked Frida’s disability. And of course, many have mentioned that Frida likely wouldn’t approve of the way her image is being used.
