The 2016 Video Music Awards had plenty of star power in Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kimye. But as red carpet regulars, they were pretty unfazed the entire night. But for people like Aly Raisman, Simone Biles, Madison Kocian, and Laurie Hernandez – 4/5 of the Final Five – everything was new and exciting. Even then, Hernandez geeked out harder than any of her teammates.
During the Rio Olympics, Laurie and her teammates’ jaws dropped when Zac Efron visited them. However, Laurie got over her nerves quickly and marched right up to him and hugged him before any of the other gymnasts could. So the MTV VMAs were obviously a repeat of that moment, and it was straight up adorbs.
