These former highschool band nerds have gone on to create a unique genre-less sound and an edgy live show with incredible energy, which hasn’t gone unnoticed by acclaimed venues such asLollapalooza and the Late Show with Conan O’Brien. Voyager NYE with TOKiMONSTA, Esta, Flamingosis, & Edamame, 8:00 PM

Voyager NYE brings together a stellar lineup of creative communities to build an installation-based space for you this New Year’s Eve at Chop Shop & 1st Ward. The music lineup is nothing to shake a stick at either, with TOKiMONSTA, ESTA, FLAMINGOSIS, & BEDAMAME all bringing the synth, soul & bass-heavy lullabies to help you ring in the new year. With an event description heralding “giant glowing jellyfish, glowing ice shards, strange sea creatures, a time warp portal, and more,” it’s pretty hard to look away from this one. More info here.

Mostly Disco NYE Feat. Lancelot and Golf Clap, 9:00 PM

Ringing in the New Year at Primary’s signature Mostly Disco night will be Lancelot, who’s been making noise across Europe and his native Australia for his productions and DJ sets. He’ll be joined on the bill by Detroit duo Golf Clap who have also been making a similar stir. Warming up the floor for them will be REDUX DJs and Alinka, so there will surely be good vibes all night long. More info here.

NYE with The Hood Internet, 8:00 PM

This New Years Eve, The East Room is bringing in mash-up masters The Hood Internet, who are a Chicago based duo comprised of ABX and STV SLV. Receiving praise from outlets like Time and SPIN Magazine, The Hood Internet have built up a cult fan-base with their mashups of hip-hop tracks and their recent originals. These alternative hip-hop heads will be bringing the party to the East Room this NYE, along with a midnight champagne toast and some special guests that have yet to be announced. More info here.

NYE with Zeds Dead, 8:00 PM

Go big this New Year’s Eve with Zeds Dead live at the Aragon Ballroom. Tickets for this NYE soiree are relatively cheap, so if you’re into the Canadian electronic duo this is a prime opportunity to do it right. Brought to you by the people at React, the show’s also themed as a “Space Oddity Costume Party”. There will be a photo booth by our buddies at GlitterGuts and more artists are to be announced. WBEZ NYE, 9:00 PM

Join WBEZ and Vocalo radio for a New Year’s party featuring signature cocktails by Johnny Costello, hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and live jazz by the Douglas Peck Trio and singers Rob Lindley, Alexis Rogers, and Evan Tyrone Martin. Celebrate New Years Eve with Afrojack at Studio Paris. If going big is your plan for NYE and price doesn’t matter, seeing the 26-year old superstar DJ at a local hot spot like Studio Paris probably tops your list. Dirtybird NYE 2015, 9:00 PM

Dirtybird Music collective takes over gorgeous Lacuna Artists Lofts for New Year’s this December 31st. DJs Justin Martin, J.Phlip, Christian Martin & Ardalan provide the music across 2 rooms and general admission includes 3 drink tickets plus a champagne toast. NYE with Sinkane and The Numero Group DJs, 8:00 PM

Forward-thinking worldly musician Sinkane is coming to Chicago’s intimate Schubas Tavern for a New Years show, promoting his new album Mean Love. Born in London and raised in Sudan, Sinkane combines elements of krautrock, free jazz and funk with traditional Sudanese music. Renowned soul label The Numero Group will be sending a group of their DJs to kick off the evening for what is sure to be a great end of year celebration. More info here.
