Arka Lounge’s New Years’ Eve, 11:00 PM

This where the reggaetonero crowd will be turning up – and if their track record is any indication, some big name guests will likely come through (recent surprise club attendees include Daddy Yankee). Their New Year’s black tie affair will include plenty of  party favors, live ball drop feed, and champagne toast at midnight (previous years have also included a 6am sancocho breakfast). Your DJs for the night are Bones, StanDaMan,  El Padrino from La X,  DJ Smalls, and Betances. This is “the” Uptown/Washington Heights party to be attending; come through with your most glamorous looks and get ready to dance the night away. More info here.

Dark Disco Presents Tiki Disco NYE, 9:00 PM

Ring in the new year with one of our favorite NYC parties, Dark Disco. Yeah, it’s the dead of winter, but the Tiki keeps the heat alive with their residents Lloydski, Andy Pry and Eli Escobar. Say hello to 2015 with all the beautiful people! They’ve moved their rave from the depths of Chinatown’s Palace 88 Dim Sum Restaurant to the Sugarhill Dinner Club in Bedstuy, which is a remarkable change of venue to say the least. We are excited to see what they do with the space. More info here.

5

The Cubana Social NYE Ball

Cubana Social is hosting a New Year’s Eve Ball starting in the afternoon and going on until whenever people want to leave. This late night function has everything from a 5 course Prix Fixe dinner starting at $65, a live Afro-Cuban Jazz performance by The Wayne Tucker Trio, classic cocktails and champagne, and a super late night menu. However, this classy party doesn’t really start until 11:00 PM, when the Avenida B Quintet hits the stage with their throwback salsa dura set. The party continues well into the night with Dutty Artz & Pico Picante star, DJ Riobamba.

6

Skrillex and Diplo NYE, 8:00 PM

Electronic DJ and producer Skrillex will be pairing with Diplo on the last night of 2014. The Grammy-Award winner has won six awards and in 2011 Skrillex was named MTV’s Electronic Dance Music Artist of the Year. L.A. based Diplo has done various collaborations with M.I.A, Britney Spears, and Beyonce featuring his side project, Major Lazer. Together, they are throwing one of the hottest parties in the country to help ring in 2015.  Joining them on stage will be A$AP Mob’s A$AP Ferg, Rudimental, and Yellow Claw.
