Everyone Is Freaking Out Over Selena’s Walk of Fame Star & it Hasn’t Even Been Unveiled

Twenty-two years after her death, Selena is finally receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony takes place Friday at 1750 N. Vine Street (in front of the Capitol Records building) at 6:30 p.m. PDT. Her older sister, Suzette Quintanilla, will accept the star on her behalf, and to build more excitement for the emotional moment, she shared some behind-the-scenes photos on Thursday.

On the official Selena page, Suzette shared images of herself making the star. “They don’t give this honor to everyone, so I’m beyond honored… to be able to participate in the making of it, priceless,” she said.

Fans quickly noted that the star only included her maiden name, Quintanilla, even though she also took Chris Pérez’s last name. Others hoped to see the mononym plastered on her biopic on all her album covers. Regardless of the omission, Chris will also be at tonight’s ceremony, and he’s incredibly excited.
