What a Beyoncé-Ronda Rousey Friendship Would Look Like
Over the weekend, Beyoncé introduced those not familiar with Ronda Rousey to a do-nothing bitch. MMA champ Rousey coined the term do-nothing bitch to explain why she refuses to just get by on her looks. During the UFC 190 Embedded videos to promote her fight with Bethe Correia, she said, “I have this one term for the kind of woman my mother raised me to not be, and I call it a do-nothing bitch.” During Budweiser Made in America festival, Rousey’s words played before Beyoncé performed “Diva.”
“A kind of chick that just tries to be pretty and be taken care of by somebody else,” Rousey said. “That’s why I think it’s hilarious when people say my body looks masculine or something like that. Listen, just because my body was developed for a purpose other than fucking millionaires, doesn’t mean it’s masculine. I think it’s femininely badass as fuck because there’s not a single muscle in my body that isn’t for a purpose. Because I’m not a do-nothing bitch.” When we first heard Rousey say these words, we were throwing up ?. Dave Sholler, the UFC vice president of public relations, said that Beyonce’s team contacted them to license Rousey’s speech, according to MMA Fighting. Naturally, we have assumed that Beyoncé is a hardcore MMA fan, who even watches the UFC 190 Embedded videos.
In response to Beyoncé’s shoutout, Rousey geeked out and posted an image of Beyoncé’s “Diva.”
And though that’s the extent of their back and forth (for now), we have already envisioned what a Bey-Rousey friendship would look like (perhaps inspired by a few too many wine coolers and replays of Amy Schumer and JLaw dancing on stage at the Billy Joel concert).
Here are five things that would most definitely happen:
