With San Diego Comic-Con 2022 wrapping up, there’s plenty to look back on and celebrate. From the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer that introduced us to Tenoch Huerta’s Namor to the various panels for National Treasure: Edge of History and Mayans M.C., there was a little something for everyone. But besides all that, and the amazing artists who brought their merch to the convention, there’s one thing we can’t stop thinking about: the cosplayers.

Cosplay is no joke, and you can tell from the attention to detail that these attendees put into every stitch, piece of clothing, or armor they built. And their love for the properties and characters they’re honoring comes through clearly with every pose they throw down, fully embodying that person, hero, or icon. And this SDCC that love was present for Namor, Moon Knight, Deadpool, and a whole slew of other properties.

Here are some of our favorite cosplays from San Diego Comic-Con 2022!

1

Argyle and Eddie, Stranger Things

Your favorite Surfer Boy Argyle from Stranger Things made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 alongside our favorite rocker Eddie Munson. And don’t worry, this Argyle made sure to save Eddie and take him back to Lenora to ensure he lives a happy and healthy life. Also, that he checks out some pineapple pizza. Because like Argyle said, don’t deny it til you try it!

2

Avengers Meets Bridgerton

There’s a rumor going on around the ton that there are some new heroes to impress. Lady Spider-Woman and Iron Man graced San Diego Comic-Con in their finest gowns. Special detail was given to Lady Iron Man’s outfit, with a mask covering her face and a gloved hand with a nod to the Infinity Stones. And Lady Spider-Woman had a lovely web pattern to match her Mary Jane hair.

3

Doctor Strange and America Chavez

Doctor Strange and America Chavez were on watch this San Diego Comic-Con making sure that no inter-dimenstional intruders, monsters, or demons-like creatures went after the once-in-a-lifetime event. Doctor Strange was instantly recognizable because of his cloak and America Chavez’s jacket is something we wouldn’t mind having part of our daily wardrobe if we’re being honest.

4

Namor the Submariner

The love for Namor the Sub-Mariner is alive and well this 2022 San Diego Comic-Con. This cosplayer, in particular, went for high detail on his gauntlets and chest piece, making him instantly recognizable. And we’re hoping that more Namor’s pop up in anticipation of the November release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Until then, we’re going to continue celebrating the upcoming inclusivity in Marvel.

5

Mariachi Deadpool

Deadpool meets Mariachi in this inspiring crossover at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. And if we’re being honest, this is something that Deadpool would absolutely wear on a casual Sunday. Because unlike those calling agua frescas “spa water” he’s about appreciating other cultures while being the messiest superhero there is around.

6

Sailor Moon Meets Moon Knight

This crossover between Sailor Moon and Moon Knight might be our favorite cosplay of 2022. It’s just…such a brilliant idea that explores the creativity of cosplayers. Seriously, the idea is so obvious that we’re shocked no one has taken on such a concept before. And we appreciate this cosplayer’s attention to detail, from the contacts to the hair.

7

Ahsoka

Ever since we went to the Star Wars Celebration, we’ve been hoping for more Ahsoka cosplayers. And this one delivered! From her blue and white headpiece to the killer outfit, this cosplayer really went for it. She came to honor one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars mythos and who many will be introduced to when her live-action show premieres on Disney+ starring Rosario Dawson.

8

Black Panther & Storm

This is our second favorite cosplay of San Diego Comic-Con and it’s due to the sheer commitment of both of these cosplayers. You should’ve seen them walking around the convention, Storm in particular, who was grace and badass from head to toe. They knew what they were doing and we’re always a sucker for a good Black Panther cosplay.
