Her husband made several appearances on the show and a relationship bloomed, culminating with the two tying the knot in May of 2019. 2016: When They Met
The pair originally met sometime in 2016 when LoCicero guest-starred on the season two episode of Jane the Virgin, “Chapter 39.” He played a stripper dressed as Don Quixote who is accidentally sent to perform for Jane as she’s lecturing a group of prospective college students. It would be the first of three appearances, with LoCicero reprising his role in season three (albeit stripping for Jane’s mother). Rodriguez herself said that it was six months later when the two saw each other at the gym that sparks flew between the pair.
January 29, 2017: They Made It Official
After celebrating their first Christmas, the pair would make it official by attending the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards in their first public appearance together. Rodriguez’s star was on the rise and many had no idea who she was dating. It was also the night Rodriguez met Meryl Streep. Wonder which was more exciting for her?
February 2017-2018: The Instagram Blitz
There was no denying the serious love between these two. Like any new couple they captured literally every moment of their lives together, from celebrating each other’s birthdays to traveling to Hawaii. The funny thing? Several of the videos Rodriguez posted, play like movies, complete with editing. These two certainly want you to see their love as cinematically as they do and we ain’t complaining.
July 30, 2018: The Engagement
After attending the Oscars together in March of 2018 many wondered if Rodriguez and LoCicero were planning on getting married. On the red carpet, many noticed a ring on Rodriguez’s wedding hand, though there was no discussion of whether it was indicative of an engagement. That changed in July, Rodriguez posted a photo of her sitting at a beachside table flashing a serious rock on her finger. A week later it was confirmed!
May 4, 2019: Wedding Bells Ring
Rodriguez and LoCicero kept wedding details close to the vest, taking a full year before they had their wedding. But what a wedding it was! Straight out of Jane the Virgin, Rodriguez’s co-star Justin Baldoni officiated it. It’s been amazing watching Rodriguez and LoCicero’s love blossom, on both social media and in reality.
