“Why are immigrants so important to American life?” The question animates the recent video campaign “Out of Many, We Are One” which celebrates Immigrant Heritage Month. Spearheaded by “I Am An Immigrant” campaign, the videos feature actors, activists and influencers like Eugenio Derbez, the cast of Party of Five, Mishel Prada and Yris Palmer, among others.
“This year marks the seventh annual Immigrant Heritage Month,” the description reads, “an opportunity to celebrate immigrants and immigration, our heritage and the countless contributions that immigrants have made and continue to make to our nation. Right now, millions of individuals with immigrant backgrounds are working tirelessly to keep our communities healthy and safe. However, we refuse to ignore what is going on in this country, that is why the I Stand With Immigrants initiative is showing up more intentionally to stand with and listen to Black organizers, and to use our platforms to support, defend, and value Black lives and Black communities.”
