Debuting in 2013, Netflix’s Orange is the New Black has been the crown jewel of the streaming services’ transition to original programming. The series, based on the autobiography of the same name, has gone on to secure six Golden Globe nominations and win six Primetime Emmy awards. But, like all good things, it must come to an end and the ladies of Litchfield prison are finally being set free. Earlier this week, it was announced that the series would be ending with season seven, and though many have been quick to say the show is canceled, that’s not necessarily the case. It seems to be more a decision from series creator Jenji Kohan, who revealed to The New York Times that she was considering ending the series after season seven and that she had an ending in mind. With just one more season to go we culled social media to look at the response from the show’s Latina cast and fans as we all mourn the loss of our Litchfield ladies.
