Pedro Almodóvar has revealed the cast of his upcoming drama, titled Silencio. The Oscar-winning director is famous for working with the same ensemble of actors on film after film (he’s been churning out a movie every other year since the 80s) but this time, picked a handful of new faces. It seems this ambitious project required working outside of his usual circles. The script will span three decades in the life of a woman named Juliet, who will be played by two different actresses, Emma Suárez and Adriana Ugarte.
Going from 1985 to the present, the story is told through the point of view of Juliet’s daughter (played by Blanca Parés) and unravels a tale of love, lost loves, guilt, and at some point a miracle occurs… I’m sold.
Here is a closer look at the main cast and the roles they will play in Silencio which starts filming in May.
