Since it arrived (possibly mistakenly?) on Tidal in late January, Rihanna’s 8th studio album Anti has been the subject of mixed reactions. It upended the expectations of those who were expecting an album full of party bangers and radio hits in the vein of 2015’s single “BBHMM,” instead finding Rih exploring both her artistic and vocal range in often downtempo tracks. Then again, it did give us lead single “Work,” which is guaranteed to blast out of every club and car from now through the end of August.

It also gave us the chance to reflect on some of the Rih-mixes over the years that have gotten heavy rotation on our party playlists. Check out four favorites below.

1

"Work" (Mangalarga remix)

The minute we heard “Work,” we were counting down the days until someone released the dembow edit of our dreams. This is that edit, from mysterious producer Mangalarga, which has remained in the top 20 of Apple Music’s Connect charts since it came out.

2

"83 Diamonds Cumbia Refix" by Toy Selectah

The M83 x Rihanna mashup we never knew we needed.

3

"Yo Tengo Lo Mio" by Natti Natasha (Ft. Messiah)

Natti Natasha blazed onto our radars last year with her playful Spanish-language flip of “BBHMM,” with a feature from none other than King of the Spanish Remix, Messiah.

4

"Pour It Up" (araabMUZIK Remix)

Dominican-Guatemalan producer araabMUZIK adds his signature drums to “Pour It Up” (from his project The Remixes Vol. 1.)
