After the always predictable, ever tame 2019 Latin Grammys, we weren’t expecting much from the Recording Academy when it comes to the mainland Grammy Awards. Yet this upcoming 2020 Grammys leads with a roster of many new young, diverse artists, from the likes of potential Rosalía collaborator, Billie Eilish and octet nominee, Lizzo. But what’s also impressive is the improved (albeit still outlying) inclusion of Latinx and Spanish-language nominees across several categories.
With today’s announcement, we see artists like Remezcla cover star Jessie Reyez nominated for Best Urban Contemporary album for her sophomore record, Being Human in Public, along with reggaetonero radio-ready staples like Bad Bunny and J Balvin for their joint album, Oasis. And there are so many more, with nominees ranging from categories like Best Jazz Vocal Album to the classic, if not broad, Caribbean catchall category for Best Tropical Latin Album.
Read on below for the full list of every Spanish-language and Latinx nomination for next year’s Grammys.
